How long does it take to prepare for HSK 3.0?

A rough guide: 30–60 study hours for HSK 1, 60–100 for HSK 2, and 120–200 for HSK 3, assuming no prior Chinese.

The range depends on your starting point and how much listening you do. Candidates who already read Chinese characters move faster; those starting from zero need more time on characters and tones.

A practical plan is to finish the word list first, then do full papers under timed conditions. Three timed papers tell you more about readiness than ten untimed ones.
